Merryhill School Elementary School

Expectations for education are higher than ever.

Students must not only achieve academic proficiency, but they must also be able to adapt their classroom learning to real-life situations. At our schools, we make sure students are prepared for middle school and beyond by giving them a strong academic foundation and the chance to apply their knowledge. We ground our students in the core academics, and then we help them learn leadership, teamwork and the ability to effectively communicate.

What Parents are Saying

"My children have succeeded academically because of the small class size and wide range of subjects taught at even the youngest ages. The staff is always doing whatever it takes to help the students, and always show genuine concern."

"I know that my child is getting the best possible education, and being cared for and cherished by incredible educators. As a parent, I feel connected to what is going on in my child's classroom, and our whole family feels like a part of the school community."

Our mission is to prepare students to be:

  • Academically successful
  • Able to apply their skills to new challenges
  • Confident in their ability to succeed

Delivering on our mission requires a new approach to education. We teach all of the traditional subject matter, but how we deliver it to the students is completely unique. We integrate subjects so that students understand how these topics apply to everyday life.  Merryhill School is part of the Nobel Learning Communities group of schools, a professional development affiliate of the Partnership for 21st Century Skills.

We provide a challenging and robust curriculum, innovative instruction led by dedicated, well-trained teachers, and a vibrant school community that values each individual's contribution. Instruction is tailored to the developmental stage of each grade and to the learning styles of each child.  We take a well-rounded approach by including specialties such as art, music, Spanish, technology, physical education and wellness. This integrated approach equips students to handle any future academic challenge.

For grades K-3, the focus is on providing strong foundations in literacy, math, and reasoning. By the time they leave third grade, our students are competent, confident and ready for the more independent learning that takes place in grades 4-8.

Students in grades 4-8 learn by exploring and integrating ideas. In these years, our instructional techniques expand beyond the walls of the classroom, including innovative use of technology to allow students to meet and work with peers from other Nobel Learning Communities' schools around the country. Our students master not only the core academic competencies, but also the life skills that will carry them through high school, college, and into the workforce.
