In order to assess how well students have mastered content, teachers use formal tests and quizzes, as well as evaluations of classroom work. In the key areas of reading and mathematics, we also use an online assessment program that continually checks each child’s progress, and provides essential information to the teacher. Teachers use this data to monitor academic strengths and needs, and to further customize future instruction for each child.
To define student performance in comparison to national norms, we annually administer the Stanford 10 achievement test to all students. The standardized test data, along with the data from our ongoing online assessment program, provides important information for the teacher to customize and personalize each child’s academic program.
