Our School

Dear Parent,

Since 1988, Merryhill Preschool and Elementary School in Arlington has provided outstanding private preschool through sixth grade education. Our goal is to provide a nurturing community where students grow, flourish and excel. To achieve this goal, we encourage effective communication, promote character education and actively engage all students, parents and staff in the learning process.

Our Links to Learning preschool curriculum is an integrated series of programs for children ages six weeks to five years of age that engages the child’s senses, mind and body. Links to Learning is organized according to a child’s age and stage of development, and incorporates fun, challenging, easily understood and meaningful activities. Our passionate and dedicated teachers work with our preschoolers to develop confidence, self-reliance and important social skills needed for success in kindergarten and beyond.

Our well-rounded elementary curriculum focuses on the core subjects, along with specialty classes such as technology, Spanish, physical education and the arts. Our teachers personalize lessons to ensure that instruction is stimulating and challenging for each student. We understand however, that students need more than academic knowledge to achieve future success. We enhance our curriculum with a variety of special events and off-campus experiential learning programs, including area enrichment trips. In addition, our older grades take annual overnight educational trips to Washington D.C., Houston and Austin.

Students of all ages receive the best possible education when parents are involved. For this reason, we offer many convenient ways to stay in touch with us, including school newsletters, classroom web pages and teacher email. We are proud to say that effective communication among parents, teachers and staff is a way of life at our school.

Please feel free to contact me to schedule a private tour. I look forward to meeting with you, gaining an understanding of your child’s educational needs, and discussing how we can work together to meet them.

Sincerely,

Michelle Bechtel
