Our School

Dear Parent,

Thank you for your interest in Merryhill Elementary School.

For over 30 years, we have taken pride in providing a high quality private school education for children in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. In August 2013, we moved into our newly renovated building at 1115 Orlando Avenue. Our notable features include an art studio, science lab, multiple play areas, music room and media center.

Our mission is to provide an education foundation for lifelong learning and achievement. We do this through instruction and project-based lessons that stimulate the development of higher-order thinking and cooperative learning, and encourage an appreciation of diversity, arts and culture.

Rich and challenging content is the foundation of our curriculum; however, we believe students need more than academic knowledge to achieve future success. Through service learning opportunities, students study social entrepreneurship and learn ways to make a difference in their communities. Past projects include collecting new toys for Chips for Kids, collecting canned goods for Kids Can, and donating pajamas and books for the Pajama Program.

Upon graduation, we expect that each of our students will be W.I.S.E:

  1. Well-versed in technology – As well-versed in science and technology as they are in reading, writing and mathematics.
  2. Insightful thinkers – Adapt to situations, set goals, develop creativity and take innovative risks.
  3. Successfully productive – Understand how to prioritize, plan and manage resources in the real world.
  4. Effective communicators – Show leadership, work in teams, and collaborate with a variety of groups.

Please feel free to contact us to schedule a private tour. We look forward to meeting with you, gaining an understanding of your child’s educational needs, and discussing how our school can meet them.

Sincerely,

Boby John, Principal
