As we all try to beat the summer heat and keep cool, summer at Merryhill is simply refreshing! Our children are beginning to feel comfortable in their new classes and are quickly making new friends. Ask your child what they are learning in their classrooms, you’ll be surprised! If you need assistance in getting information out of your child, check out the “What We Learned Today” posted on the Parent Boards, the classroom newsletters on the classroom doors, or simply speak with your child’s teacher. They are there to help you in any way that they can. You can also check out our school website at: http://laguna.merryhillschool.com. Most importantly, I send out a weekly “This Week at Merryhill” via your email. This weekly update will help you with all the important dates coming up and what is happening during the week at our school.
All of us at Merryhill would like to welcome all of our new families that have joined us this past month. We are so glad that you are part of the Merryhill family. We hope that your child’s experience at Merryhill is memorable.
Join us on Thursday, August 20th beginning at 6:00 pm for a potluck and Concert, featuring Music Matt. This is a great opportunity for all of our families to get together for a fun-filled evening of meeting new families and Music Matt fun! Sign up in the lobby to bring a potluck dish to share.

As a reminder, Merryhill will be closed on Friday, August 14th for our Staff Professional Development Day. Our teachers will join other Merryhill teachers from the Sacramento region for a day of professional growth and development. Our goal is to provide our teachers with essential information to use in their classrooms to serve our Merryhill families and serve them better.

“Color Run”
On Monday, August 3rd, Merryhill will hold their very first Color Run. Please bring in a white t-shirt to your child’s teacher as soon as possible and wear clothes that can get ruined. The children will make their way through a colorful obstacle course!
Wednesday, August 12th
“Noah’s Ark Workshop”
Join your child to make their very own hand-stuffed animal pal. You and your child will make it, name it, and take it home. All orders must be in by July 30th!
Friday, August 28th
“Beach Umbrella Parade & Picnic”
Bring your favorite umbrella to school for a parade & picnic.
