Welcome Fall!

October is almost here and the calendar says that Fall has officially arrived, although the weather has not felt any cooler.

A Look Back at September

Your child’s school portraits are here and ready to be picked up and viewed.  If you have not yet picked them up from the front desk, please stop by to do so.  Please return all payments and/or unwanted portraits to the front desk by Thursday, October 1st.

Grandparent’s Day was a huge success and it was so nice to meet and spend time with all of the grandmas and grandpas.  Thank you for giving us the opportunity to celebrate them.

Your children certainly enjoyed our September Arts and Enrichment Activity with Petting Zoo to You.  I heard many of the children so excitedly talking all about it when they were being picked up that day.

Thank you for your participation in the Scholastic Book Fair.  We received so many new books for our library and our teachers.

Looking Ahead into October

We will be closed on Friday, October 2nd, for a Staff Development Day.

Friday, October 9th, will be Pizza Friday.  If you would like your child to participate and have not already signed them up, please stop by the front desk for more information.

October 16th will  be a Free Dress Day for all students.  For a donation of $5.00, your child will be able to wear his/her favorite outfit to school.  All donations will support Alzheimer’s research.

October 16th is also our Annual Halloween Extravaganza.  Please bring the family for an evening filled with food, games, and fun.  Start thinking of your costumes now for our Family Costume Contest.  Tickets will go on sale on Monday, September 28th.  If you have a business or something that you can donate to our silent auction, we would be very appreciative.

We will be closed on Friday, October 30th, in observance of Nevada Day.

Other Official Business

I know that the parking lot can be quite hectic at times and finding a parking spot can be challenging.  Coral Academy has really stepped into action this year and is doing their part in helping to make the process run more smoothly for all.  The parking lot attendants that you see each day are parent volunteers.  We would like to be able to do our part as well, by helping to direct traffic.  If you are interested in volunteering your time to help with this task, please let Mrs. Louis-Jacques or myself know.  Along the same lines, please do not park in the one handicapped parking spot that we have.  We have parents that are in need of the close parking spot and are quite frustrated when it is not available.  Please do not park in that spot unless you have a sign or license plate indicating that you are in need of that spot.  Thank you for your cooperation with this.

Looking forward to a cooler fall, filled with exciting adventures with your children.

Mrs. Luther
