August 2017 News

Welcome back to school! It’s so nice to see all the familiar and new faces of students and families. As students settle in to their new classrooms, I’d like to remind parents and families to stop by, email, or phone any time. The beginning of a new school year is a transition period for the entire family and we are available to assist you with anything that arises throughout the school day.

September will be an exciting month as we have several events planned.  Please take a look at our school website calendar for important upcoming dates!

Grandparents are invited to join us for cookies and milk on September 8th @ 2:30pm.  We look forward to seeing our Grandparents!

PTO will host our annual fall “Book Fair” starting September 18th and culminating with a family event on Thursday, September 21st .  More details to follow.

We will host a Back To School Night on September 6th at 6pm.  Find out what your child will be doing in class and the learning goals for the upcoming school year.

Just a few reminders as we get back into the “school groove”:

Please be sure your child arrives no later than 8:30 for Preschool classes in rooms 2, 4, 5, 6 & 7.  It is important that students arrive on time as young children are easily distracted. A classmate who comes into the room after an activity has started causes disruption. Disruptions can take time away from valuable activities.  Also your child wants time to visit his/her friends and settle into the classroom routine. Being late doesn’t make that transition easy for them and they may feel anxious or rushed. Some children are embarrassed when everyone’s attention is drawn to them. Being on time means that they are not an unexpected center of attention.

We look forward to another amazing school year for our students.  Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education experience.
