July Newsletter

From the Principal’s Office

Welcome to Merryhill!  July marks the start of our new school year at Merryhill.  Although we are very sad to see our Pre-K children graduate and head off to Kindergarten, we are so happy to begin a new year with all of our new and continuing students.

We will kick off our new year with our regular Links to Learning curriculum, however, the first 10 weeks will assist your child in moving from the younger age level classes to the class that they are now currently assigned. During our summer months we have planned many fun activities that we are sure your children will love, but it will also be a very important time for your child’s new teacher to get to know your child and make their initial observations and assessments which will be the key to our first Parent Reports in September.

On Friday, June 29th we will have our annual 4th of July Spectacular.  If you would like to donate mentos or 2 liter bottles of diet coke for the occasion, please let us know.  Don’t forget to wear your red, white, and blue and join in the fun!

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to speak with me, Miss Terrie or Miss Ashley at any time.  We are looking forward to a spectacular year!

Lisa Norris- Principal

spectacular event! If you would like to donate soda and mentos, please bring them in no later than Thursday, June 28th  at 9:00 am.

Water Play Days

Throughout the summer, your child will enjoy water play days.  On those days, please bring your child’s swim suit, a towel and water shoes.  Water shoes are required for all of the children participating in water play.  If  you do not have water shoes, then other shoes that can get wet can be brought into the school.
NO FLIP FLOP TYPE SHOES ARE ALLOWED.

Water Bottles!

If your child is in our Intermediate, Pre-K and Pre-K2 classes, we would like you to bring a water bottle for your child to have while they are outside on the playground. Please make sure your child’s water bottle is clearly label with their name and has a hook on the water bottle, so we can hang them on your child’s cubby hook. A picture of a water bottle is located on the front desk.

Sunscreen

Please check the expiration date on your child’s sunscreen that we have here at school and remember that a doctor’s note is required for us to apply sunscreen.  If you already have one on file, then you are good to go.
