Dearest Families,
February ended with cold and rainy weather!! We look forward to much needed sunshine! We will start our garden again when the weather starts to get a little warmer! The children, teachers and I will plant herbs to taste and smell, veggies to eat and do projects with, and colorful flowers to look at and draw! This garden will give us more real life learning experiences to incorporate with our Links to Learning curriculum!
With the days getting longer and spring time just around the corner, we leap into March with a renewed sense of excitement! Starting the excitement, we will have a special visitor tomorrow. A magical unicorn will come and read to the children in celebration of Dr. Seuss’s Birthday! In addition our spring pictures are happening soon! Our Scholastic Book Fair is in full swing and teasing you with all of the fun books to buy this week! Tomorrow is the last day. Please be aware that the school is closed for Teacher In-Service Day next Friday, March 8th. Our St. Patrick’s Day pot-luck will be coming up on March 18th at 3:30 pm! Hold on to your hats, because April is jammed packed with thrills too. Check the calendar below for all of the special activities.
For our Pre-K children who are graduating to Kindergarten in the new school year, visit the Elementary front office for information on how to reserve your spot! You can always schedule a personal tour with Ms. Cooper to get more information. Please contact the Elementary Principal, Karen Cooper, or the Vice Principal Joan Sousae for more details. Their contact number is 408-254-1282, or they can also be reached by email at Karen.cooper@nlcinc.com and Joan.sousae@nlcinc.com. The Elementary School will also have a carnival for all families on Sat. March 23rd from 10am – 1pm. Join the fun!! This is also where you will be able to get information on the Kindergarten summer camp program. There will be registration forms there too to sign up for their summer camp. Their summer camp is for all families, even outside families. If you know of any friends or family who need a fun place for their child to go for the summer months, Merryhill Elementary School is the way to go! They have fun field trips every week and lots of fun activities throughout the day. Check’em out!
As always, if you have any questions or concerns my door is always open. We are here to help you and “our” children in any way we can. Everyone at Merryhill is special and important to us. Let us continue to make this a great school year!

Do you mention the personal and educational discoveries your child is making thanks to our advanced curriculum? Do you talk about the new levels of self and social confidence your child has gained thanks to our encouraging atmosphere?
*For every new child you refer who enrolls at our school for three months, you’ll receive one FREE week of tuition for your child*.
It’s our way of saying thanks for doing what comes naturally – singing the praises of your child and sharing your experiences with the Merryhill School difference!!
