Dear Merryhill Parents,
NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK: As the cooler weather is upon us, we’re reminded of how much this season fall walks to see the changing of colors and the leaves falling from the trees. This month we will be exploring pumpkins, leaves, and autumn themes. We’re also excited for special activities where the children will see colors orange and black, jack-o-lanterns, pumpkins, and other fall things. We will be having a classroom non carving pumpkin contest, where our students will work together to create their pumpkin.
Halloween is also an exciting celebration here, On Friday, October 31st we will be having our annual TRUNK-a-TREAT event from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, then we are excited to announce we are bring back our Fall Festival which will be from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. We invite all our families to join us for this wonderful event where the children can wear their favorite costume and trick-or-treat here at the school. Children who are not scheduled to attend on Friday are welcome to come to this events. We will follow up sending a flyer that provides more details of the event as well as posting a sign-up sheet for volunteers to provide their “trunk “for the treat distribution. We invite both students and parent to dress up and wear their special costumes. While picking out costumes, please remember to keep comfort and safety in mind. Just a reminder swords, guns, and other sharp objects are not allowed.
We are also participating in the KIDS CAN FOOD DRIVE. This will run from October 6th to November 11th. All food items collected will go to the Elk Grove Food Bank. We will be having a contest, the class that collects the most cans will receive a Pizza Party.
