Health & Safety Home / About Us / Health & Safety How Merryhill Preschool of Elk Grove Protects Every Child, Every Day At Merryhill Preschool of Elk Grove, a healthy and secure learning environment is the standard we hold ourselves to every single day. We follow thorough health and safety protocols and keep pace with guidance from local and state health departments to protect our students and staff alike. Controlled Building Access We keep our campus secure by limiting entry to registered families, staff, and approved visitors only. Every visitor signs in at the front desk, shows identification, and wears a badge for their visit. Because pick-up safety matters, families must authorize pick-up in advance, and we check ID against our records every time. Sick Policy A sick child needs rest, not a classroom, so we ask families to keep children home when they’re feeling unwell in the morning. If a child becomes sick while at school, we care for them immediately and contact you for pick-up. We also encourage good habits like covering coughs and washing hands. Spotless Classrooms Germs spread fast among young children, which is why our team cleans classrooms and shared spaces often, paying close attention to doorknobs, light switches, and toys. Cleaning supplies are used carefully by our trained staff and stored in locked cabinets, away from students. Well-Trained Teachers Before joining our team, every educator completes a background check and interview process to confirm they’re qualified to work with young children. Ongoing training covers child abuse awareness and prevention, CPR, allergy protocol, first aid, supervision, and behavior management. Our teachers know each child by name, helping every student build the confidence to feel safe, seen, and ready to learn.
