Happy September, MSC Families!

We are thrilled to welcome the month of September! Our students and staff are settling into the school year, establishing routines, building relationships, and embracing all the exciting learning opportunities ahead.

We have officially begun our new Saxon Pre-Kindergarten curriculum while continuing to implement our Links to Learning curriculum throughout the building. Our classrooms are also filled with engaging, themed lessons and activities as we prepare to celebrate Grandparents’ Day, Hispanic Heritage Month, Johnny Appleseed Day, and so much more!

We are excited to watch our students continue to learn, grow, and thrive as they explore new concepts, develop new skills, and build confidence each day. Thank you for being such an important part of the Calvine community and for partnering with us in your child’s learning journey!

• Labor Day 9/7
  Our school will be closed on Monday, September 7th.
  We hope you enjoy a well-deserved day of rest, relaxation, and time
  with loved ones. We look forward to seeing everyone back at

• National Teddy Bear Day & Picnic Day 9/9
  Children will enjoy lunch outdoors with their friends and teachers.
  They may bring a stuffy (stuffed animal) and a blanket or towel to
  sit on.
  
  
• Gardening with Grandparents 9/11
  Calling all Merryhill grandparents and loved ones! Join your
  grandchild on Friday, September 11th from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm to
  participate in a fun gardening activity!
  
  
• Picture Day 9/14-9/15
  Say Cheese! Get your best smiles with Lifetouch photography.

• Johnny Appleseed Week 9/28-10/1
  Children will engage in a variety of apple themed activities and learn
  about Johnny Appleseed.
  Crazy Hat Day – September 30th (Children may come to school wearing a crazy hat!)

• Open House 10/1
  Join us for a new to remember (current and prospective parents). We will have games, snacks, and the opportunity to meet and see our Calvine community in action.
  
  
• Professional Development Day 10/2
  Our school will be closed on Friday, October 2nd!
  
  Our faculty and staff will spend the day engaging in professional learning and collaboration designed to strengthen our teaching practices and enhance the learning experience we provide for our
  students.
  
  Our family reports will be released to all families. Throughout this month, our teachers will be taking time to make observations and document your child’s growth, development, and progress. At the end of the month, families will receive a Family Report via email with how their child is doing.
  
  Please note: On Monday, October 5th, childcare will be available for all preschool families, as we will not host fall parent-teacher conferences, like the upper campus.
  

• Wear it Pink Day 10/23
  Show your support and help us fill the campus with pink paired with free dress for Breast Cancer Awareness! #RockPINK #BeatCancer
  
  
• Trunk or Treat Parade 10/30
  Get ready for an some spooky fun, sweet treats, and memories! Children can show off their favorite costumes while visiting creatively decorated trunks and collecting treats along the way. Families are encouraged to get into the spirit by decorating their vehicles and joining in the fun!

• Early Release Day 10/30
  The school will close at 4:00 pm. All students must be picked up prior, as no childcare or clubs will be offered.
