I cannot believe that Summer Camp is almost over and the new school year is almost here. We have enjoyed field trips, visitors to our school, and many fun and wacky science and art activities. Now it is time to gear up for a brand new school year here at Merryhill Henderson. Please pay attention to some important dates:
Our last two Pizza Fridays for the summer will be August 5th and 12th. If you have not signed your child up to participate, you may do so at the front desk.
August 12th, children will enjoy popcorn and a movie here at school. Stay tuned to find out which movie we will be enjoying as we say goodbye to summer and hello to fall.
August 15th -19th, we will be closed for Staff In-service.
Please join us on Friday, August 19th, from 9:00-11:00 AM, for Meet and Greet. Stop by with your child to check out his/her new classroom and greet the teachers.
August 22nd is the first day of the new school year. Please be sure that your child arrives to school on time and in uniform if they are in our Beginner Program and older.
Lifetouch Portraits will be on campus August 31st-September 2nd. More information as the date draws closer.
It is always exciting to begin the new school year. There is nothing quite like purchasing new school supplies, putting on those new uniforms, and saying hello to friends that we haven’t seen all summer. With the transition into new classrooms, sometimes comes apprehension and tears. Please keep in mind that we are expecting this from some of our friends, both returning and new to the school. Our teachers are prepared and eager to ease the anxiety that comes with change, both for the child as well as the parents. Creating and adhering to a routine will help with the transition, as well as talking to your child about the changes. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to approach your child’s teacher or a member of the front office team and we will be happy to help you in any way that we can.
