Health & Safety Home / About Us / Health & Safety Health & Safety at Merryhill Preschool Mountain’s Edge A child can’t be curious or confident if they don’t feel safe first. At Merryhill Preschool Mountain’s Edge, we make that safety non-negotiable, backed by comprehensive health and safety practices and close attention to guidance from local and state health departments. Building Security Only registered families, staff, and approved visitors can enter our building. Every visitor checks in at the front desk, shows ID, and wears a badge while on site. Pick-up requires prior authorization from families, and we check ID and confirm our approved list before releasing any child. Sick Policy We ask families to keep children home if they’re feeling sick in the morning, so they can rest and recover fully. If a child becomes ill during the school day, we care for them right away and call you for pick-up. Children also practice covering coughs and sneezes and washing their hands. Cleaning Routine Young children can pick up germs easily, so our staff cleans classrooms and common areas frequently, paying close attention to doorknobs, light switches, and toys. Cleaning products are always used carefully and stored in locked cabinets, away from children. Nurturing Educators Our educators complete thorough background checks and interviews, plus ongoing training in child abuse awareness and prevention, CPR, allergy protocol, first aid, supervision, and behavior management. They know how to stay calm and act quickly. Your child is seen, known, and safe, from morning drop-off to afternoon pick-up.
