Health & Safety Home / About Us / Health & Safety How Merryhill Preschool Rocklin Puts Your Child’s Safety First Ask any teacher at Merryhill Preschool Rocklin what comes first, before circle time, before snack, before anything, and the answer is always the same: keeping your child safe. That commitment is backed by comprehensive health and safety practices, kept current with guidance from local and state health departments. Building Security Only registered families, staff, and approved visitors can enter our building. Every visitor checks in at the front desk, shows ID, and wears a visitor badge while on site. Families provide prior authorization for pick-up, and we check ID and confirm our approved list every time, without fail. Keeping Germs at Bay We ask families to keep children home if they’re feeling sick in the morning, so they have time to rest and recover. If a child becomes ill during the school day, we care for them right away and call you to arrange pick-up. Children also learn to cover coughs and sneezes and wash their hands often. Sparkling Spaces Because young children can catch germs easily, our staff cleans classrooms and common areas often, paying close attention to doorknobs, light switches, and toys. Cleaning products are always used with care and stored in locked cabinets, out of children’s reach. Caring Teachers Our teachers go through extensive background checks and interviews and are trained in child abuse awareness and prevention, CPR, allergy protocol, first aid, supervision, and behavior management. They know how to stay calm and act fast in an emergency. We follow a face-to-name rule so every child is accounted for and known by name throughout the day.
