Health & Safety Home / About Us / Health & Safety How We Keep Children Safe & Happy at Merryhill Preschool South Natomas Every family who walks through our doors deserves total confidence in their child’s safety. At Merryhill Preschool South Natomas, a healthy and nurturing learning environment is our highest priority, supported by comprehensive health and safety practices aligned with local and state health department guidance. Secure Spaces We limit access to our building to registered families, staff, and approved visitors. Every visitor checks in at the front desk, presents ID, and wears a visitor badge for the duration of their visit. Families must authorize pick-up in advance, and we always check ID and confirm the approved pick-up list. Sick Policy If your child feels sick in the morning, please keep them home so they can rest and recover. If your child becomes ill while at school, we’ll care for them right away and call you to come pick them up. We also teach children to cover their coughs and sneezes and to wash their hands often. Cleaning Routines Young children can get sick easily, so our team cleans classrooms and common areas frequently, with special attention to doorknobs, light switches, and toys. All cleaning products are used carefully and locked away, safely out of children’s reach. Trained Educators Every teacher completes a rigorous background check and interview process before joining our staff. Ongoing training covers child abuse awareness and prevention, CPR, allergy protocol, first aid, supervision, and behavior management, so our team can stay calm and act quickly in an emergency. We follow a face-to-name rule so every child is known, watched, and safe throughout the day.
