A Note from Our Principal
The start of a new school year brings fresh energy, new opportunities, and so much excitement! We’re thrilled to welcome both new and returning families to our community. We hope everyone had a wonderful summer, and we look forward to a year full of friendships, joyful learning, and growth. For the month of September we are learning about All About Me and our families. We will start the month of September by celebrating our Grandparents. We can’t wait to meet more family members!
Grandparents Day
We can’t wait to meet all the Grandparents during our event. They will enjoy loose parts during arts and crafts. Sign up today by your child’s classroom!
National Teddy Bear Day
It’s National Teddy Bear Day on September 9th! Have your child bring their favorite stuffy to share with the class. The children will practice public speaking and share their teddy bear’s name, likes, and dislikes. We look forward to hearing about their adventures. We will also take photos of the children enjoying some lunch with their buddies!

Say Cheese! Fall Picture Day is held on September 15th and 16th. Please see the schedule below for your child’s class.

Hispanic Heritage Month
Merryhill has a wealth of diverse families and we take pride in acknowledging our families cultures and traditions. The classrooms will celebrate Hispanic Heritage on Friday, September 19th. The children are learning about the Hispanic culture and traditions, so they will work on making a piñata during the week of September 16th and will have their very own fiesta! What will they need??? From all the books and activities the children will have completed, they will come up with a list to create a perfect Fiesta! The children will celebrate during outdoor time! Please help us by donating newspaper to make our classroom pinatas during the week of September 15th. Please donate all paper from September 2nd through September 12th. A basket will be placed in the front office. Look out for photos!
Happy Birthday Johnny Appleseed
During the week of September 22nd, the children will learn all about Apples! Which apple do you like best…red, yellow or green? The children will have fun with math while graphing their favorite apple after completing an apple taste test. On Johnny Appleseed’s birthday, September 26th, the children will celebrate with Crazy Hat Day! I can’t wait to see all the craziness!
