Health & Safety Home / About Us / Health & Safety Health & Safety Comes First at Merryhill Preschool West Laguna A child can’t explore, play, and grow with confidence unless they feel secure. That’s why providing a healthy, safe, nurturing environment is our highest priority at Merryhill Preschool West Laguna. We are guided by comprehensive practices and up-to-date guidance from local and state health departments. Secure Campus Only registered families, staff, and approved visitors may enter our building. Visitors check in at the front desk, show ID, and wear a badge for their visit. Pick-up requires advance authorization from families, and we check ID against our approved pick-up list every time, no exceptions. Sick Policy If your child feels sick in the morning, we ask that you keep them home until they’re feeling better. Should a child become ill while at school, we’ll care for them and call you to come pick them up. We also encourage children to cover their coughs and sneezes and wash their hands regularly. Cleanliness Is a Daily Priority Young children can pick up germs easily, so our staff cleans classrooms and common areas often, with extra attention paid to doorknobs, light switches, and toys. All cleaning products are used carefully and stored in locked cabinets, away from little hands. Teachers You Can Trust Every member of our teaching staff completes a thorough background check and interview process. We provide ongoing training in child abuse awareness and prevention, CPR, allergy protocol, first aid, supervision, and behavior management, so our teachers can stay calm and act quickly when it matters. We follow a face-to-name rule, so your child is always known and always accounted for.
