Welcome to art with Ms. Russell!

This is Ms. Russell’s 17th year at Merryhill School.  A Las Vegas native, Ms. Russell graduated high school from the prominent Las Vegas Academy School of Visual and Performing Arts.  Art was Ms. Russell’s favorite subject beginning in elementary school, she could not wait for the one day a week that she had art class.  It is with this passion and excitement that the path to share and educate children about the world of art began.

Ms. Russell’s favorite artist’s are Vincent van Gogh, Marc Chagall and Sandro Botticelli.  Van Gogh was a Post-Impressionist, Chagall a Surrealist, and Botticelli a Renaissance artist.  There are so many different art styles that students will get to learn about and experience in art class.  During the school year as student’s knowledge and exposure grows student’s will be able to discuss their favorite artist and style, and why it is special to them.
