Another school year has arrived for 2017/2018 and many of us are eager to begin. I would like to take the time to introduce myself for those of you who don’t know me. My name is Elizabeth Macaraeg and I am one of the Spanish teachers here at Merryhill School. I will be teaching 4th-8th grade middle school students this year. Merryhill School has been my second family and home for the past 17 years. As a member of our specialty team, I am looking forward to another chapter in the new school year.
Every year our students come back, excited to share their experiences over the summer and ready to develop culturally. To explore all cultures and embrace different languages is a gift to share in our community. Over the years, our staff here has grown together as a family unit to work and build a better team for our students.
The excitement awaits for the year to begin and expose the students to the wonderful foreign language of Spanish. We will begin by taking a journey experiencing the basics on building an extensive vocabulary and simple conversation. As we learn the history and culture, the students will preview a bit of the Latin Americas that is built into the curriculum. Communication is very important to begin building a relationship between parents, students and teachers. Please help me to guide your child by informing me of any concerns that you might have about Spanish. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to send me an email and I will respond in a timely manner. I am looking forward to meeting you all at Back to School Night/Open House.
